Overview: The Lodge is located near Merritt, in the central interior of British Columbia, approximately 4.5 hours from Vancouver. The exclusive facility, hosting only 15 guests at a time is part of the largest working cattle ranch in Canada, with over 18,000 head of cattle on 500,000 acres. Decorated in a classic Canadian theme with leather sofas and armchairs, hardwood floors and lush carpeting, it is an exquisite retreat for discriminating vacationers. The lodge is furnished with a fully licensed lounge, tastefully decorated dining room and large rock fireplace. A large sundeck with hot tub is immediately adjacent to the lounge and makes an ideal spot for outdoor barbecues while enjoying the stunning view of Stoney Lake. The beautiful Canadian theme is carried on to the tastefully appointed oversized bedrooms with two queen beds, private bathroom and all amenities. Included in the Full American Plan are three meals daily. A delicious breakfast buffet, boxed lunches and a three-course gourmet dinner.
Activities at the Guest Ranch are varied and include trophy lake fly-fishing in either Stoney or Minnie Lakes, over 20 km of hiking and biking trails, and horseback riding out on the range with experienced wrangler. The ranch is rich in history and tradition, and our guided ranch tours are designed for guests who wish to explore our operation and share an honest view of our lifestyle and heritage. Riding horseback is a way of life enjoyed by many at the Guest Ranch and you will understand why once you have experienced riding high in cattle country! Together with one of our experienced guides, guests saddle up and ride to secret places special to the true character of our rangeland. You will marvel at the incredible vistas of rolling hills, flower filled meadows, lakes and streams. You may even see a white tail deer, moose or black bear on the trail. Guests ride well trained, conditioned and gentle horses suited to personal abilities. Group sizes range from two to eight riders for a memorable experience you will cherish for a lifetime. Morning and afternoon rides available May through September.
