2 Days Nahatlatch River Rafting
 RBC#07 Nahatlatch River
We conducted the first-ever Nahatlatch raft descent in 1982. Today, Nahatlatch trips are rated one of the best adventure travel values in Canada. What makes the Nahatlatch so addictive and perfect for rafting is the near-continuous, rapid-fire white water. The Classic section features 25 rapids over a 10 km (6 mile) stretch and an average gradient of 85 feet per mile. The Nahatlatch Classic is far more exciting than other rivers near Vancouver or Whistler.

In fact, few rivers in North America offer such continuous action yet are still suitable for first-time rafters.  July and August are a favourite months with guests as the water warms and the river level drops, making the river much more technical. July and August are also the best months for surfing waves and holes. The two Class 4+ rapids on the Nahatlatch Classic, Rose Garden and Meatgrinder, are always optional as we provide a bus shuttle around the rapids.

Rafting: Rafting the Nahatlatch canyon is short, sweet and intense and is a perfect add-on to the Classic run. The steep-walled canyon creates an adrenaline-filled ride as each bend in the river reveals a new surprise. In just 3 Km (2 miles), the river cascades through 12 incredible rapids, including several ledge drops. Most of the rapids are Class 4, with one Class 5 section that starts at the Nozzle rapid and continues downstream through Big Jack and Hump and Bump. Average gradient in the canyon is 95 feet/mile. Our August departures through the canyon are typically run as a fast blast from Meatgrinder right through the canyon. The fast blast features 37 rapids over a 12 Km (7 mile) stretch of river! As the river level drops in the late-summer heat, the canyon may be offered as a double run leaving right from the eddy below our dining deck. Our canyon season can start in late-July and usually runs into mid-September. Our minimum age to raft the canyon is 15 years. All paddlers must be in good physical condition with strong swimming ability.

Accommodation: Our Rivers Edge Queen cabin tents include a queen bed and a twin bed. These tents are perfect for couples, or small family vacations. The Rivers Edge cabin tents are simple, private, and idyllically located on the edge of the emerald green waters of the Nahatlatch River. Each canvas tent is braced by hand-peeled log poles and features solid 2 X 8 wooden decking. The cabin tent ceiling is 9 feet high so inside they are roomy and comfortable. Each unit contains one queen bed, one twin bed, and a handcrafted cedar lounge chair for two. Public washrooms are located 40 to 80 feet away.

Amenities: Over looking the Nahatlatch River, our 15-person hot tub is a relaxing way to end your day after one of our adventures. The hot tub is located in the centre of all the action, so families can warm up while listening to the campfire entertainment. The cedar sauna is popular for its simplicity and rugged appeal. Hand-built by our guides from cedar logs, the sauna is one-of-a-kind, and another way to warm up and relax after a trilling day of family activities. The natural pool is located on the Nahatlatch River, which is approximately a 5-minute walk from the camping area. With temperatures reaching over 30 degrees celsius in July & August, there is no better way to cool off! It’s a great location to sunbath while watching the rafts go by
