Upon arrival in Vancouver, pick up your rental car and check in at your downtown hotel location for the next two nights. Surrounded by water and nestled alongside the Coast Mountain Range, Vancouver is home to spectacular natural surroundings and many world-class attractions.

Spend the day to visit the sights & attractions of Vancouver including Stanley Park, the vibrant shopping district along Robson Street, historic Gastown, Chinatown, Stanley Park and the Capilano Suspension Bridge. A tram ride on the top of Grouse Mountain offers incredible views of the city.

|
This morning leave Vancouver and drive across the famous Lions Gate bridge and onto the Sea to Sky Highway. Hugging the side of the coastal mountains and overlooking the Howe Sound, the drive is worth the trip all by itself. Stopover at Shannon Falls & Garibaldi Provincial Park before arriving in Whistler – base of the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Enjoy your free time to explore Whistler village or visit the top of Whistler / Blackcomb mountain via the high speed gondola, offering unparalleled views of the Coast Mountain Range. Thrilling is the mountain bike park or the zip line & treetop adventure park.

Whistler – Clearwater / Wells Gray
|
While traveling through the mountains along the Duffy Lake Road you will leave the wet coastal forests and abruptly enter the rain shadow of British Columbia's interior. Hardy pine trees and sagebrush replace the towering fir trees of the west coast. This is still real Cowboy Country with large cattle ranches. Wells Gray is known as the waterfall park as there are over 250 waterfalls located within the area.

This morning hike to Dawson Falls and the spectacular Helmcken Falls - Canada's fourth highest waterfall. If you are here in July/August don’t miss the flower meadows of the Trophy Mountain region. Travel north to Valemount, a small village nestled within three mountain ranges; the Rockies, the Monashee - and the Caribou Mountains. The superb scenery in the park makes it an excellent site for hikers, climbers, and backcountry enthusiasts.

At Tete Jaune Cache hike to the Rearguard Falls where you can see salmon attempting to leap the falls. On your way to Jasper you pass Mt. Robson, the tallest mountain of the Canadian Rockies and the origin of the mighty Fraser River. Watch for abundant wildlife along the road. After a short drive you’ll arrive in Jasper. Time to visit the area attractions or to attend a leisurely rafting trip on the Athabasca River.

Jasper National Park is located amidst the most beautiful wilderness of the Rocky Mountains. Visit Maligne Canyon and glacier-fed Maligne Lake. From here take a cruise to Spirit Island. The top of Whistlers Mountain promises the best views of the Rockies.

One of the world's greatest mountain highways - the Icefields Parkway - offers outstanding views and excellent wildlife viewing. Mandatory stopovers should include the Columbia Icefield, Sunwapta Falls, Peyto Lake and the famous towering Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise Hotel. Continue your journey through Yoho, Revelstoke and Glacier National Park to Golden.

From glacier-clad peaks along the Continental Divide to the dry grassy slopes of the Columbia Valley, where even cactus grows, Kootenay National Park is an area rich in variety. Spend the day hiking in the park or visit the hot springs pools near Radium Hot Springs.

Radium - Banff National Park

A day to relax. The area around Radium Hot Springs provides excellent Golf Courses, Spas and Heritage Interpretive Programs. Travel on the Banff-Windermere Highway 95 km to Banff National Park. Stopover at Johnstone Canyon - one of the most popular hiking trails within the Canadian Rockies.

As part of the UNESCO Rocky Mountain Park, Banff National Park offers spectacular mountain scenery and many natural attractions. Visit today the Upper Hot Springs, Cave & Basin Centre, Bow Falls and the Hoodoos or play a round of golf in front of the majestic Banff Springs Hotel. Well worth is the gondola ride to the Top of Sulphur Mountain for an amazing mountain view.

Banff National Park - Calgary
|
It is time to leave Banff National Park and the Rocky Mountains. Take the Trans-Canada-Highway towards Calgary. Calgary is nestled beside the Rocky Mountain foothills and famous for the "Calgary Stampede" Rodeo (July). The top of Calgary Tower offers unparalleled views of the city, mountains and prairies beyond.
