Arrive in Vancouver, pick up your rental car and check in at your downtown hotel location. Surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and nestled alongside the Coast Mountain Range, the cosmopolitan city of Vancouver is home to spectacular natural scenery and many sightseeing attractions.

Leave Vancouver during the day and drive 100 Miles down to Bellingham. Stopover at the Bellis Fair Outlet Center for some great shopping opportunities. Overnight Bellingham.

The Alaska Marine Highway follows the same route travelled by the gold seekers in 1898. The sheltered waters of the scenic Inside Passage are a beautiful string of bays, sounds and channels. Watch for Whales and Bald Eagles. Forest Service Naturalists are onboard the ferries to provide information and slide shows about the area. Onboard amenities are: restaurant and snack bar, shop, bars and observation decks. Overnight on board.

Alaska’s costal cities have a rich and colorful history. The ferry stops at ports in Ketchikan, Petersburg, Wrangell and Juneau. You may have the opportunity to leave the ferry for a stroll through various coastal communities. Overnight on board the Alaska ferry.

During July of 1898 Skagway was the gateway for more than 20.000 Goldseekers trying to reach the goldfield along the Klondike River via the infamous Chilkoot Trail and the Yukon River. Stroll along the Broadway and discover the present and the past: Trail of ‘98 Museum, Klondike Gold Rush Historical Park, the Goldrush Cemetery, the Days of’98 show with the Story of the Soapy Smith, the Klondike Gold Dredge and the terminus of the White Pass & Yukon Railroad. Overnight.

Time to visit additional Skagway attractions. Continue on the Klondike Highway to the Canadian Customs Office at Fraser. After crossing the border into Canada’s Yukon Territory stopover at Carcross, Tagish Lake and the scenic Emerald Lake. Total driving distance: 100 Miles.

Whitehorse enjoys more than 20 hours of daylight during the summer months. Explore the sights: Miles Canyon with its Whitehorse Rapids, McBride Museum with the largest collection of Yukon Gold in the world, Takhini Hot Springs, the Beringia Interpretive Center with life size exhibits of animals of the last ice age, City Hall and the Old Log Church. The Frantic Follies evening show presents a lively evening of Robert Service stories and a Can-Can Show.

Drive through the remote wilderness areas of the Yukon Territory via Jakes Corner and Johnsons Crossing to Teslin. Visit the George Johnstone Museum with colorful exhibits of the Tlingit Natives. Overnight.

Watson Lakes famous collection of highway signs from around the world was started 1942 by Carl Lindley – an Alaska Highway construction worker. Currently over 10.000 signs are displayed. Continue to Liard Hot Springs. The natural hot springs mineral pools are accessible via wooden boardwalks. Don’t forget your swimsuit. After a short drive you will reach your lodge on the shores of Muncho Lake. Overnight.

Muncho Lake is almost 7 miles long and one of the most beautiful lakes in BC. The area provides excellent fishing and wildlife viewing for Stone Sheep, Mountain Goats, Moose and Caribou. The lodge provides activity packages, flightseeing trips and boat/canoe rental.

Drive along Muncho Lake and pass various Provincial Parks before you reach Fort Nelson – a former Hudson Bay Trading Post and now a major Alaska Highway stopover destination in the centre of the Northern Rockies wilderness area. In the evening you reach Dawson Creek and the Mile 0 marker of the Alaska Highway. Overnight.

Continue your journey via Grande Prairie to Edmonton. Visit the Odyssium with the Imax Theatre, Northlands Park, the Citadel Theatre and the Alberta Legislative Building. Overnight Edmonton.

Jasper National Park is located amidst the most beautiful wilderness areas of the Rocky Mountains. Visit Maligne Canyon and glacier-fed Maligne Lake. Consider a boat tour to the enchanted Spirit Island. The top of Whistlers Mountain promises the best views of the rockies.

Travel on one the world’s most scenic mountain highways – the Icefields Parkway towards Banff. Enjoy the warm weather and explore sandy beaches as you drive towards Penticton – located at the southern end of the deep blue Okanagan Lake. Stopover on one of the many farmers markets and wineries along the lake. Continue your journey through Manning Park to Vancouver. A shorter route leads from Kelowna down the Coquihalla Highway to Hope and then to Vancouver. Arrive during the evening. Overnight in Vancouver.
