The Icefield Parkway within Banff & Jasper National Parks - is a stretch of road that surely boasts some of the most dramatic scenery in North America. Deep blue lakes, glacier, excellent wildlife viewing, high altitude mountain ranges and sparkling rivers are yours to discover. What better way to intimately witness such a space than from the seat of a bicycle with the road whirring below? About 285 km or 177 miles of easy to moderate cycling has you gliding through this incredible experience with plenty of downhill time and opportunities to enjoy other outdoor diversions along the way. Cool off with a swim, hike a short trail, relax or climb to picturesque perches for unforgettable views of glaciers that are fed by the Columbia Icefields. Guides and support vehicles accompany you along the way, transfering your luggage and assuring a carefree adventure. This is the perfect chance to cycle the best of Canada’s wild country! 01 |
Arrive in Calgary. Time to explore the city center and its sightseeing highlights. Overnight in Calgary.

Meet at the hotel at 08:00 am and get ready to load and go. After loading we will drive to The Bow Valley Parkway for the bike set-up and bike start. Today’s destination is the Mountaineer Lodge/Lake Louise or Lake Louise Campground. Distance - biking distance is approximately 53 km/33 miles. Terrain - mostly easy with a few short steep hills and one longer one just before Johnston Canyon. Sightseeing - Bow Valley Parkway, Johnston Canyon and Lake Louise Meals - Breakfast is your responsibility and can be enjoyed at the Hotel. Lunch is usually at the bike start on the Bow Valley Parkway and dinner is at the Baker Creek Chalets.

Layover day. Our guides will assist with day activities and sightseeing within the Lake Louise area and biking distance is optional. Meals - Breakfast at Lake Louise Inn, Lunch will be prepared by Canusa guides at a convenient time and location - or buy your own -and Dinner will again be at Baker Creek Chalets. Sightseeing - Takawkaw Falls, Spiral Tunnels, Kicking Horse Pass, Lake Louise and/or Hike to the Teahouse.

Today’s destination is the Saskatchewan River Crossing Hotel or Campground. Distance -biking distance is approximately 83 km/52 miles. Terrain 40 km/25 m of mostly easy to moderate grades with occasional steep sections followed by a steep 8 km/5 miles downhill then another 32 km/20 miles of mostly easy downhill to the Crossing Hotel. Sightseeing - Herbert and Hector Lakes, Bow Lake, Falls and Glacier, Peyto Lake and Lookout and Waterfowl Lake. Meals Breakfast at Lake Louise Inn, Lunch at Waterfowl Lake and dinner at Saskatchewan River Crossing Hotel.

Today’s destination is the Columbia Icefields Chalet or Wilcox Creek Campground. Distance Biking distance is approximately 49 km/30 miles. Terrain - mostly easy to moderate uphill grades to the foot of Sunwapta Pass then a steep 12 km/8 miles to the summit. Sightseeing - The weeping Wall, Sunwapta Pass and look-out and hikes to Parkers Ridge and the toe of the Athabaska Glacier. Meals Breakfast is at the Saskatchewan River Crossing Hotel or campground, Lunch at Wilcox Creek Campground and dinner at the Columbia Icefields Chalet Restaurant.

Today’s destination is the Honeymoon Lake Campground or hotel accommodation at the Sunwapta Resort. Distance - biking distance is approximately 54 km/34 miles. Terrain - a steep 1.5 km/1 miles climb near the beginning followed by a very steep 5 km/3 miles downhill then 30 miles of mostly easy downhill. Sightseeing - Wilcox Pass, Sunwapta Falls, and Jasper. Meals - Breakfast is at the Icefields Chalet, Lunch is at Honeymoon Lake Campground followed by a drive to Jasper and dinner is at Karouzos Restaurant in Jasper.

07 |
Our last day of biking. Today’s destination is Jasper. After tour completition in Jasper return by Van to Calgary. Overnight at the Executive Royal Inn. Distance - biking distance is approximately 45 km/28 miles. Terrain - mostly easy downhill with only a few short uphills. Sightseeing - Athabaska Falls. Meals -- Breakfast is at Sunwapta Resort, Lunch is in Jasper.
