8 Days Explorer Cruise / Juneau – Prince Rupert |
1 |
Juneau
Board the Vessel at 1600. Afternoon departure for a relaxing and scenic dinner cruise of the Lynn Canal and likely our first sighting of humpback whales before a warm-up dive, for those interested and anchoring overnight. |

2 + 3 |
Inside Passage
There will be lots of great activities for all interests. Divers will have the opportunity to dive the wrecks of the passenger steamer Princess Sophia and passenger liner Princess Kathleen. Fisherman will find they are in good company. Paddlers and hikers should have lots to keep them busy as well. Evening cruise on Monday to Gilbert Bay to anchor overnight and hopefully spot our first grizzly bear of the trip. |

Tracy Arm
This morning you will have the opportunity to hike up a salmon stream with possible grizzly bear sightings or perhaps try your hand at 'crabbing'. We will plan to be underway by late morning to scout out an iceberg to snorkel, dive or kayak followed by a late afternoon and evening exploration of the icebergs, waterfalls and glaciers of spectacular Tracy Arm. Anchor overnight in a beautiful steep-sided fjord. |
|
5 |
Admiralty Island
Today will be our chance to explore Admiralty Island - home to the densest population of both grizzly bears and eagles anywhere in North America. Today will feature one of our prime dives of the trip - the very rarely visited State of California which is a steamship vertically orientated with the bow of the wreck at 100 fsw. |
|
6 |
Yasha & Baranoff Island
Our plan for today is to stop in at the stellar sea lion colony at Yasha Island for some big animal diving/kayaking/shore hiking and fishing and then steam over to some beautiful natural hot springs on Baranoff Island. During our morning transit of Frederick Sound, there is an extremely high probability that we will have the opportunity to drift and kayak with a number of humpback whales. |
|
7 |
Prince Rupert
Today will be our last day of exploration before our last overnight run of the trip as we 'slide downhill' to Prince Rupert. |
|
8 |
Prince Rupert
This morning we will disembark in Prince Rupert for your connecting flight back home. |
