ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
|
Huskies have been around for ages but sled dogs are still as amazing as they were during the days of the
great Klondike Gold Rush: Coming through when you need them the most. Giving their all to get that load up
over the top of the hill. Lapping up any attention that comes their way.
Our 25 Alaskan huskies all born and raised here. Ranging in age from six months to 13 years, they're well-trained
and extremely social. There's only one thing they love more than being patted - and that's running.
Alaskans aren't particularly big dogs. Ours weigh between 40 and 60 pounds. With special attention paid to their
diet and exercise program, they're capable of hauling great loads for long distances. When it comes to speed, they
can pour it on if required but generally they do best at a steady pace of 10 to 12 miles per hour. Given plenty of love
and respect, you'll find that sled dogs are the best working companions you'll ever come across. Dogsledding is
teamwork at its finest!
