GR#02 70-Mile House
Overview: Private and exclusive, the Guest Ranch offers freedom, adventure, and the finest of comforts in an intimate, pristine wilderness setting. It's a 160-Acre working ranch tucked away in the heart of B.C.'s Cariboo country, 20 miles east of 70 Mile House and a 5 hr scenic drive north of Vancouver. The ranch is surrounded by more than 10,000 acres of uninhabited Crown Land, a truly unique setting, unmarred by power poles and public byways. Riding is the main activity, and we offer small group or solitary riding on miles of unspoiled wilderness trails. We do not have rigidly scheduled trail rides. Rather, we endeavor to give you the freedom to ride as much or as little as you like, wherever on our map you choose to roam. You may ride well-trained horses with or without a guide, depending on you experience. Less experienced riders will have the pleasure of personal riding and outdoors instruction, and might soon find the freedom to ride on their own. We have a beautiful, well cared for and well-trained herd available to suit your experience. You'll be treated to your own horse for the duration of your stay, with extra care taken in giving you a mount that matches your abilities and temperament. Spend your first day learning the lay of the land - horsemanship and wilderness trips will be the main agenda. After that you can ride as little or as much as you like for the rest of your stay. Explore a hidden river canyon, search through an old homestead, check on the ranch cattle, or meditate in the quiet serenity of a lonesome lake. Children are welcome to take part in the riding while under supervision of their parents. If under 12 years of age, participation in an unescorted group will be at the discretion of the wrangler, based on the child's riding ability and maturity.

The 7,000 square foot, log Ranch House is set at the edge of a meadow on a knoll overlooking Siwash Lake and features six guest rooms, each with ensuite bathroom, distinctively different, and yet all in harmony with the best of ranch living. Enjoy the luxury - old-fashioned country charm and the rustic flavor of frontier living, finished with elegant touches reminiscent of the Victorian era. The cathedral ceiling living room, with its western dιcor, overstuffed furniture, vintage fabrics, and antiques makes for a relaxed and comfortable hangout at day's end, when there's always a crackling fire burning in the 30-foot high river rock fireplace. Or step through double French doors that open to a spacious deck, and share your day's adventures over drinks and appetizers while wild birds serenade from the nearby pines. At mealtimes, pamper yourself with great food and fellowship at the grand dining table. Country style, the dining room and kitchen are open to each other, and offer beautiful views of the meadow. The ranch offers savory, wholesome food, prepared from the freshest of seasonal ingredients and served with casual. Breakfasts in the dining room are hearty, and lunches are buffet style, served outside whenever possible. Dinners are sumptuous, culinary delights infused with international flavours. Variations may sometimes include an outdoor barbeque or fireside fondue.
