The Sea-Renity Spa: Sooke Harbour House is proud to announce the opening of "Sea-renity" Spa. The elements of beach stone, garden herbs, and the sea form the foundation of the treatments. Treatments are provided in either the privacy of your ocean view room or in the quiet, meditative surroundings of our new Potlatch Room. Here, our 3 treatment areas overlook the river rock fireplace under the watchful eye of Tsonoqua "The Wild Woman of the Woods", our welcoming totem. The West Coast Hot Rock Massage combines the use of thermotherapy with the use of local basalt and marble stones. Every stone reflects energy and purpose with a releasing effect on the body as it is being applied. Deep, penetrating, heated stones are massaged in a circular motion, up and around the body, bringing balance and healing. A renewed interest in the healing properties of herbs has given birth to Sooke Harbour House Herbal Therapy. These sanative herbal products are designed to aid the life force within each one of us and restore the body to a state of health. Spa products are made with fresh organic herbs from our garden. Our on site herbalist uses small batches to ensure freshness and quality. Our Herbal Therapy program includes herbal bath product, massage oils, medicinal creams, and Canadian Moor Mud. Medicinal use of herbs is applied through aromatherapy and massage. A custom blend of high grade, organic, essential oils work internally to help with muscle aches, arthritis, lowered immune system, circulatory problems, etc. The diffusion of pleasant aromas throughout the treatment penetrates the olfactory system into the brain to trigger pleasant memories and associations. Thalossotherapy is used widely in Europe and is part of their current medical system as an alternative therapy. New research suggests that kelp plants have properties that help arthritis, eczema, and rheumatism. With our Oceanic blend, we use exotic and natural ocean spa products that contain seaweeds from our pristine, uncontaminated outer coast and plant essences from the temperate rainforest used by aboriginal people. Outer Coast Seaweed products are rich sources of vitamins, with over 12 minerals and 60 trace elements. Seaweeds are rich in vitamins A1, B1, B2, B6, C and pantothenic acid, folic acid, and niacin. They are high in iodine and a primary source of B12 with significant amounts of vitamin E & K.
The research shows they are excellent sources of most minerals, especially potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, zinc, manganese and more.
